• Protect our customer and our company against any duty/VAT/customs exposure
• Build relationships with our customer and drive excellent customer service
• Be an inspirator, motivator and coach towards your people
• Ensuring optimal, smooth, and timely customs declaration processes
• Ensuring communication with customs authorities
• Contribution and adherence of AIT annual goals & targets incl. following quality management system guidelines
• Drive timely and correct invoicing

People:

• Build a strong team, that will deliver on the expectations
• Be a mentor, coach and motivator for your people
• Conduct regular 1-1 meetings with your direct reports
• Support and drive your team development
• Lead by example

Customers:

• Build relationships with your customers by having regular contact
• Be a trusted advisor
• Ensure you protect the customer and the organization by assessing quality. Quality in customer data, declaration, and information.
• Be responsible for correct transition and implementation of new customers

Finance:

• Ensure the team is billing timely and correctly
• Contribute to the financial targets that are set.

Operations:

• Manage the work within the team and ensure the daily task gets done
• Assess quality of your team members. File completeness, declaration quality, record keeping and instruction confirmation
• Ensure SOP’s are available for your customers
• Ensure import, export and transit declarations are performed timely and accurately.
• Ensuring communication with customs authorities
• Compliant with the rules and regulations
• Drive continues improvement within your team / department
• Drive the KPI’s set together as an organization / team

• Several years of professional experience as a forwarding/customs agent/broker
• Experience in leading or coordinating a team is beneficial
• In possession of a Customs Broker license
• Good knowledge in customs laws and regulations
• Fluent oral and written English and Dutch is required
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence at all levels of the organization, strong cultural sensitivity, and ability to build up relationships.
• Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
• Pro-active, target driven, solutions-oriented and good attention to details
• Flexible and positive attitude to excel in a client-driven environment, commercial awareness
